The debate on climate change is a very polarized one, but between the “Climate Change Is Real So Let’s Do Something And Do It Fast Or We’re All Gonna Die” camp and the “Your Science is Fake, Climate Change Ain’t Happening” camp there are moderates like our speaker Professor David Friedman.
Even if we accept that climatologists’ projections are correct, there is no need to jump to conclusions about drastic reductions in carbon emissions and devoting valuable resources to production of energy in relatively inefficient ways. Professor Friedman will discuss the problems of rational response to the issue of climate change, including how to estimate net externalities as a basis for policy.
